November 2004

Can You Believe it is November?

The leaves are past their peak and ready for raking . . . yuck!  Halloween is a memory and the weather is turning more towards real football temperatures.  I have posted some pictures from Halloween on our website.   You should check them out.

Several have come forward very interested in a neighborhood watch (many streets are still not representative).  However, we are still looking for someone to chair this effort.  If you are interested . . . let us hear from you.  lakeridgetn@lakeridgetn.com.   Within the next few weeks I have asked the Knox County Sheriff's Department for one of their representatives to come to a Homeowners' Association Meeting and speak to us about it.  A newsletter will be put out in advance of this meeting with as much notice as possible . . . please continue to check this website for the most updated information.  Also . . . if you would like to be included in our EMAIL TREE for instant neighborhood news and updates . . . please send us a note with "EMAIL TREE" in the subject line and you will be added to the list.  lakeridgetn@lakeridgetn.com

As the holidays near, please remember to keep cars locked, garage doors closed, homes locked, and at night turn your outside lights on as deterrent . . .  darkest this their friend . . . let's not give them any advantages.

Lakeridge Fall Festival Another HUGE Success!

Festival, Neighborhood Watch & Found

I want to thank Margaret Lyday, Jill Mix, Laura Abbott and all the others who offered their time and efforts to make this year's Lakeridge Fall Festival a HUGE success.  Nearly 350 from our community showed up to enjoy the Hayride, Chili Cook-Off, and of course the Lawn Tractor Race.  Please watch for an article and pictures in this today’s FarragutPress . . . also there should be the same in an upcoming issue of the Knoxville News Sentinel “West Knox Community” section.  In addition, our website now has several fantastic pictures from the Festival along with great pictures of our Mountain Views and Halloween

A few weeks ago in the early morning there was a group of teens (2 boys & 2 girls) roaming the streets between 3:30 and 4am.  Needless to say, this is past curfew and with the continued disturbances that occurred within our neighborhood, I understand the Sheriff’s Department was called.

In the last week, a silver small sized sedan has been spotted driving though the neighborhood very slowly and even honking their horn in the early morning hours.  Neighbors have contacted local law enforcement and asked to increase patrol in our area.

Neighborhood watch . . . only a dozen or so have offered to participate in joining a neighborhood watch.  Several streets have no one that has stepped forward . . . and no one has yet offered to chair this effort.  Again, if you are interested in forming a neighborhood watch now is the time.  We need to hear from you.  If you are interested in chairing this effort . . . I too need to hear from you.  lakeridegtn@lakeridgetn.com

FOUND . . . a girls mountain bike on Watermill Trail.  It is black with purple highlights.  To identify this bike . . . contact us at lakeridgetn@lakeridgetn.com

Your Lakeridge Homeowners’ Association website has many new features . . . including homes for sale and homes recently sold.  If you want to learn more about our Association’s Bylaws . . . they can be found there too!  Soon we will have the neighborhood covenants.  You will also find several links to other area, city, and county websites.  If you have any ideas or suggestions . . . please let us know.  The website changes frequently so make it one of your favorites and check it often.
