The votes are in for the best holiday decorations in Lakeridge! The winners were chosen by 17 of our neighborhood’s children and they too know how difficult it can be to pick the best! That’s one of the reasons why we have a three-way tie for third place! It’s really tough to choose from so many beautifully decorated homes. The 2004 winners are:
|
3rd place – The Harris’ at 1633 Rising View 3rd place – The Beach’s at 1601 Rising View 3rd place – The Morgan’s at 1725 Dawn Redwood 2nd place – The Navella’s at 1900 Winding Ridge 1st place – The Richardson’s at 1808 Watermill |

Great
neighborhoods don’t happen without great neighbors. We need our neighbors to step up to continue
making Lakeridge the best neighborhood it can be. As you may already know, our President,
During my two years, I have truly enjoyed working to build a stronger Lakeridge community. I hope that we’ve been successful in making some fond memories for you and your family to keep. I had lots of wonderful help hosting the fall festival, the holiday lights judging with your children, and the spring picnic. We hope you enjoyed that effort and were able to share it with those you love.
I know we made a difference in the lives of others through our donations to Habitat for Humanity, and I’m proud that it was our neighborhood that did it.
We are planning a
gathering in March for anyone interested in serving as an officer, board member
at large or committee member. The
purpose will be to share experiences, discuss what’s involved when serving in
the association, and to answer any questions.
If interested, please contact

The Lakeridge
residents have a vital network called the E-MAIL
TREE. It is the first and
quickest notification system where Lakeridge residents can get the latest
information about events affecting the neighborhood. While we would hope to only have good news to
share, that e-mail notification was especially valuable when reports of a
potential child abductor, complete with composite sketch, was delivered to
neighborhood computer desktops. We were
instantly informed and had the information we needed to keep our families
safe. This same system was used to alert
us about break-ins, too, and provided tips on how to discourage robberies. To sign up for e-mail notifications, send an
e-mail to

Neighborhood Concerns
from your neighbors:
* When setting out trash to be collected, please be courteous to tape up boxes (or tightly secure the lids of boxes) that contain lightweight materials (i.e. Styrofoam peanuts). The wind gusts and garbage collectors sometimes scatter this lightweight material.
* Could we put together some sort directory of services that residents of Lakeridge provide? For instance, babysitters, pet sitters, lawn care... I know that the phone directory needs updating so maybe we could deliver update forms to all the residents and include on that form an area where they can opt to state any special services that they want included in the directory. (great idea, see below)
* Dogs running loose are again a problem. I walk my pet on a lease and do not appreciate others who just let their pet run the neighborhood. This causes a problem if the dogs fight, or worst yet attack me while I walk my small child. It’s the law, lease your pets.
* If you walk your pet please pick up after it. I don’t own a pet and don’t appreciate picking up after supposed “caring” pet owner. It is your responsibility, otherwise, stay in your own yard.
* Speed limit in our neighborhood is 25 Miles Per Hour. In the early morning and early evening hours, residents are walking or jogging. Please keep an eye out for them and SLOW DOWN.
Neighborhood
Requests:
* We want YOUR
ideas on possible Capitol Project Improvements that YOU would like to see
happen. Let us hear from you!
*
* The Sheriff’s Department has advised us that many home addresses are not visible from the street causing a delay or reduction in service. They request that residents place large street numbers on mailboxes AND near your front door.
Neighborhood Phone
Directory:
The new Neighborhood Phone Directory is coming out! Year after year, this directory has proved to
be such a useful tool. Well, it’s about
to become more useful. If you are a paid
member of our Homeowners’ Association and provide a service such as plumbing,
babysitting, floral design, web design, Mary Kay, real estate, etc..... and would like the opportunity to
list your name and contact information
for free at the back of the directory . . . please contact
