Hello Neighbors!                                        April 2005

With the help of one of our residents, John Lindley . . . we are able to secure the Westlake Church for Thursday April 28th at 7pm , for a Neighborhood Crime Watch Presentation by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.  I hope we all make an effort to attend so that we can learn more about how to keep our community safer.

This is a free presentation, however . . . we will be excepting donations and this would also be a great time for you to pay your annual $40 Homeowners’ Association Dues.  Please make checks payable to Lakeridge Homeowners’ Association.

Westlake Church is located just off the Pellissippi at Westland Drive, which is exit 3.  This event will be held in the large Youth Room in the lower level of the church.

If you have any questions . . . just let us know.  president@lakeridgetn.com

Our Annual Spring Picnic (2005 Lakeridge Homeowners’ Association Members only) is scheduled for this Saturday, April 30th from 5pm to 7pm on the side lawn of the McGowan's at 1806 Watermill Trail.  There will be music, food, games for the kids . . . but pack your cooler with drinks, bring a dish to share and something to sit on.  Not only is that a fun event . . . but this is where we will be electing our NEW officers.  So . . . do I sound like a broken record yet . . . we are trying for our BIGGEST membership ever . . . come on . . . cut loose with the $40 and make your neighborhood the best it can be.  Click here to get a  2005 payment invoice

See you at the Neighborhood Watch Presentation at Westlake Church at 7pm on Thursday April 28th.

 DIRECTORY:

Our neighborhood directory has been delivered . . . YEA!!!  Let us know what you think.  This directory is free to all who paid their annual dues for the years of 2004 and/or 2005!

Just a few reminders. . .

The Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!.  Donation trucks carried away articles that were found not to be treasures to the hundreds that canvassed our neighborhood.  Neighbors also walked from home to home seeking bargains.  I paid a dollar for an "like new" large umbrella that my neighbor got free from work . . . it was a win-win for everyone.  Light fixtures I had replaced months ago and thought would never sell, were the first to go.  Dog houses to stuffed dogs now have new homes and we all hopefully a little more green to show for it along with a little more room in the garage.  Special thanks to all who helped make this a success!!!

The Meet & Greet held last month.  Several residents stopped by for some snacks and to hear all about what it takes to be a Board member with our Association.  However, there are several positions that remain open . . .  President, Secretary and a few At Large members.  If you are interested in one of these positions.  .  .  Please let me know at president@lakeridgetn.com

With the events that fill our news . . .  here is a public database to check for offender in any area.  This information was passed onto me from one of our Association’s members.  Just type in the Zip Code to find an offender in that area.  http://www.criminalcheck.com

A neighboring neighborhood, Concord Hill would like to offer our residents the opportunity to join their Pool Facilities.  The rates and other information is on a flyer that I have attached to this email.  You can visit the Concord Hills website to view picture and get more information at www.concordhillshoa.com.

Again, thank you all for your support.  It has been an honor to serve you.  See you at our Annual Spring Meeting and Party. . . Saturday April 30th from 5 to 7pm.

County Officials Requests

*  Knox County as contacted the Association’s Board and asked they our residents cut back trees so that emergency vehicles can move freely.  Cut down or back on shrubs that are near intersections.  Do not park on the street.

*  The Sheriff’s Department has advised us that many home addresses are not visible from the street causing a delay or reduction in service.  They request that residents place large street numbers on mailboxes AND near your front door.
